E-bills of exchange and the CReM application
It is important for you to know that OTP Bank, in cooperation with the National Bank of Serbia, has enabled access to the Central Registry of Electronic Bills of Exchange (CReM application) and that Clients will therefore be able to use e-bills of exchange through selected digital channels. Thus, the full digitization of the process of working with bills of exchange, which until now required paper documentation and physical exchange, is enabled from 01.12.2025. It is important to know that you still have the option of choosing between paper and electronic bills of exchange in your business operations.
Terms and documentation
Clients who want to use e-bills of exchange in their business and access the CReM application through OTP Bank are required to:
- open a dinar current account and an e-banking account in OTP Bank;
- sign with the Bank a contract on access to the CReM application as well as related appendixes for defining the authorized persons with the level of access and rights;
- Give consent to the Terms of Use of the Central Registry of E-Bills of Exchange while registering to the CReM application. These terms defined by the National Bank of Serbia are also available on the website of the National Bank of Serbia nbs.rs, which you can also download from this link.
- Persons authorized to work in the CReM application are required to possess qualified electronic certificates for electronic signature and a remote signing application (so-called signing in the cloud), issued by a trustworthy service provider for the management of that asset, with which the National Bank of Serbia has concluded an agreement on connecting the Central Registry with the signature system of that service provider.

The introduction of e-bills of exchange ensures full digitization of the process – issuing, signing and processing of bills completely online, as well as saving time – no visits to the branch and additional administrative requirements.
